On Saturday, July 24, 2004 we hosted a House Concert for Robby Longley

ROBBY LONGLEY is a local favorite whose orchestrated guitar music breaks down known musical borders. He weaves a very distinctive style with a beautifully orchestrated neo-classical/flamenco fusion of world music in which Robby uses flamenco technique to produce guitar music that is not traditional flamenco.

The listener will instantly discern that Robby's approach is both heartfelt and seductive, leading one on an emotionally filled journey. Robby took first place winning eight out of eight prestigious guitar competitions from 1990 to 1992 in Southern California. Listening to Robby Longley perform his moody compositions, you cannot help but notice the finesse with which he plays the acoustic guitar. His original approach to the guitar is something special to see; he simply amazes his audiences.

Robby's set at our house will be long remembered by everyone here. As his last song ended, everyone in our fully packed house came to their feet with what may have been the biggest standing ovation we've ever seen here at Russ & Julie's House Concerts! His guitar playing is among the most innovative and heartfelt that we have seen.
