From Ventura, California via the Rocky Mountains, Jonathan McEuen has impressed those in front of any stage and in any recording studio he has gone to since his mid-teenage years. Now, at 25 with a background of experience and songs, delivered with his gifted musical abilities backing his great, and truly amazing voice, he is poised to break onto the national music scene.
"We don't have enough superlatives to describe his amazing raw talent, dynamic energy and contagious charm..."
--Russ & Julie (Russ & Julie's House Concerts)
Growing up in a music business family, early on he 'got the bug' to be on stage, and by his own words wanted to "be a star and perform for lots of people". By 6th grade he had the lead role in a high school production of The King and I (Clear Creek High School in Colorado, where he grew up), and knocked everyone out. At the end of the last performance, crying because it was over, everyone knew the stage had hooked him.
"He is incredible... like his generation's James Taylor or [Dan] Fogelberg... and possibly the next notch better..."
--John McEuen (of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band)
From the first time he held a guitar and picked out the rhythm lick to "Mystery Train", he was hooked on guitar. The following years he studied Hendrix, Stevie Ray, John Denver, Clapton, Albert Lee and developed his own hot style to accompany his own music. His abilities on the guitar let artists twice his age know that the boundaries are now broader than ever. Jonathan also plays keyboards, lap steel, percussion and drums, and bass.
"...killer voice, smooth playing and heartfelt delivery..."
--Flying Dog Records
Rock and Roll, finger-picking ballads, acoustic or electric blues, great writing, and the amazing voice all combine to give Jonathan's broad combination of talents and love of performing a stage presence that has consistently won over audiences since he first went on stage at 6 years old at Denver's Red Rocks Amphitheater.
From Atlantic City to Vegas, The Bottom Line to Aspen, jamming at festival shows with Sam Bush or Vince Gill, to being acting co-star in TNN's The Music of the Wild West, he has taken every challenge, and knocked people out time after time. With Jonathan McEuen, we can guarantee a truly riveting performance!
Jonathan McEuen appears as a special guest on the brand new Nitty Gritty Dirt Band album "Will the Circle Be Unbroken, III" and his particular track has been picked for the music video to promote the album. You can see the video on CMT Channel. Prior to his performance here, Jonathan had just recently returned from performing with the Dirt Band in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opery.
Our December 7th house concert with Jonathan McEuen was another standing room only house concert. Jonathan ranks among our very favorite musicians, and we expect he now ranks that way with most of the people who were here that night. That evening we wound down our sixth year of hosting house concerts and celebrated Julie's birthday at the same time. Jonathan was joined by the amazing Jim Christie on percussion and the great Steve Nelson on bass.
Whether it was rock and roll, finger-picking ballads, acoustic or electric blues, Jonathan's awesome guitar playing, great songwriting and amazing voice combined to wow us all. His truly riveting performance led to multiple encores... and no one wanted him to stop. Another unforgettable evening... Thank you Jonathan for a night to remember!
