Born and raised in Tucson, AZ, and based out of Houston, TX, Sisters Morales have built quite a following. Their performances are always described as "energetic, emotional and rockin'." They've performed at George Strait's 1st Annual Music Festival at San Antonio's Alamodome and won numerous awards including 1998 Best Folk/Acoustic act in the Houston Press.
Sisters Morales are Roberta and Lisa Morales. They grew up around a musical family, which contributed to their diverse tastes in music. They sang in Spanish before they sang in English. Their first performances included singing with mariachis in Mexican restaurants.
And just wait until you hear these harmonies!!!
Both women are accomplished musicians and songwriters, each reflecting what she has gone though in her life, and both voices are very different, but their harmonies are strong and tight and sound as if they're made up of the same voice.
Oblivious to industry market categories, they create and perform their own mix of acoustic-tinged music. "We're not just country, and we're not just folk. In fact, I don't know what we are," says Lisa. "Really, we cross all lines. We play some mariachi music, a little blues, and we rock, so it's every type of music that we ever heard growing up, stirred together."
Certainly their energetic and exciting performance thrilled our audience and more than one person left after telling us it was the best show we've yet hosted! Please check out their Web site at www.sistersmorales.com.
