Venice performed 2 amazing concerts of music in our living room on November 3, 2001.

David Crosby has called Venice "the best vocal group in the country, and one of the best groups of any kind I have ever heard." Born and raised in Venice, CA, brothers Kipp and Pat Lennon (younger siblings of the Lennon Sisters) and their cousins, brothers Mark and Michael Lennon have been performing as Venice for more than 20 years. (This acoustic show will be without their bass player and drummer - just the four Lennons.)

Formed in 1977, their music is often described as Rock, Folk-Rock, Country-Folk-Rock, or Adult Contemporary, depending upon the source. Their sound is most often compared to the Southern California sound of 1970's groups like the Eagles, Crosby Stills & Nash, and Fleetwood Mac.

Their 1990 self-titled album on Modern/Atlantic produced the hit single "All My Life" which got good rotation on MTV and helped cement a very loyal following. Six subsequent albums have showcased the group's wonderful songwriting and exquisite harmonies. Their 1999 album, Spin Art, yielded a hit single in the song "The Man You Think I Am" which continues to get radio play around the country.

Venice performed two separate shows this night, before two completely different standing room only crowds! People came from all over the country for this show; from as far away as Washington, Oregon and Illinois and it was well worth it. Venice did a wonderful acoustic set of their greatest hits as well as several new songs that made their world debuts at these shows and will appear on an upcoming Venice album early next year.

For those fans looking for more Venice photos, we've posted another dozen photos from that night on a special Venice Photo Page. Also, be sure to visit Venice's great website, Venice Central.
