Little Feat's Billy Payne participated in our house concert series on November 20, 1999.

Bill Payne co-founded Little Feat in the chaotic summer of 1969. Meeting Lowell George, recently asked to leave Frank Zappa's Mothers Of Invention to form his own group, the die was cast on what was to be one of the most enduring bands of the seventies. Lowell George passed away June 29, 1979, which led to a breakup of the band until it's reformation in 1987, followed by a triumphant return with the album Let It Roll in 1988. Little Feat has recorded fifteen albums over a thirty year span, and is still going strong.
In addition to being in Little Feat, Bill has performed on hundreds of albums throughout the last thirty years: Bob Seger, Doobie Bros., James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Emmy Lou Harris, Rod Stewart, Bryan Adams, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, J J Cale, Jackson Browne, David Lindley, Linda Rondstadt...to name a few. He has also toured extensively with James Taylor, Linda Rondstadt, Jackson Browne, Bob Seger, Emmy Lou Harris, Bonnie Raitt.
Bill Payne presented his first ever solo concert with us. It was an evening of music, poetry, conversation, and improvisation. Bill moved much of his home studio into our living room and then proceeded to give us a sneak preview of how he works and plays in his own home environment. Naturally, fans came from all over for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with one of the greatest keyboard players in rock and roll. The show was recorded for future broadcast on Little Feat Radio, a nationally syndicated program with more than 35 stations across the country.
