On Saturday, November 4, 2006, on the occasion of our 100th House Concert, we hosted a special evening for Andrew Gold and his band.![]() L to R: Debbie Pearl (vocals), Rosemary Butler (vocals), Stephen Arti (drums), Steven Beasley (guitar), Andrew Gold (lead vocals, keyboard, guitar), Loren Gold (keyboard), Jimmy Caprio (bass). Andrew Gold has enjoyed a unique career, having played multiple roles with great success as singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, and musician. In 1973 he joined Linda Ronstadt's band and performed and arranged many of the instruments on her 1970's records. Andrew has performed on, recorded with and/or produced hits for Linda Ronstadt, Art Garfunkel, Celine Dion, 10cc, James Taylor, Ringo Starr, Brian Wilson, Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Diana Ross, Cher, Trisha Yearwood, Wynonna Judd, Paul McCartney, Stephen Bishop, Vince Gill, Aaron Neville, Nicolette Larson and countless others. In the mid '70s Andrew Gold released four solo LPs and had a number of hit singles. "Lonely Boy," from his second LP, was a top 5 hit in the U.S. "Thank You For Being A Friend" from his 3rd album became the theme for TV's The Golden Girls. In the 1980s Andrew was a member of WAX with Graham Gouldman of 10cc and in the '90s he was a member of Bryndle with Karla Bonoff, Kenny Edwards and Wendy Waldman. He has also produced and written songs and music for countless television and movie soundtracks, most notably singing the theme to TV's Mad About You. Andrew continues to produce, record and release music at a dizzying pace. Our House Concert with singer/songwriter/producer Andrew Gold was another completely full, standing-room-only event. Andrew and his whole band (Stephen Arti on drums, Jimmy Caprio on bass, Loren Gold on keyboards, Steven Beasley on guitar, Debbie Pearl and the legendary Rosemary Butler on backing vocals) squeezed into our living room for a night that will be long remembered. This was our 100th House Concert and we couldn't have made a better choice for our celebration. Thank you to Andrew and everyone in the band for a very special night.
